A “rebuild” (or “remanufacture/overhaul/refurbishment”) means dismantling the turbocharger, inspecting all internal components (compressor and turbine wheels, bearings, seals and housings for wear and causes of failure) cleaning, replacing all minor components and where needed major components reassembling and balancing it to OEM or better specs.
